Book Presentation:
Written in 1966 to "clarify some details of cinematographic technique that may prove useful to some filmmakers", this text actually assumes two functions. On the one hand, it can be read as a technical manual of great precision and, on the other hand, as a manifesto of Brakhage's visionary and experimental thought. Certainly, one of Brakhage's most fascinating and engaging texts, written in the wake of his film Dog Star Man (1961-64)
