Book Presentation:
We were in the market, pushing loaded carts when we came to the pet shop. “What’s that?” I asked, pointing.
"A dog,” answered Ellen, “keep moving.”
“But I never saw one like that. What is it besides a ball of fluff with platter eyes?”

From Joan Blondell's memoir The Tale of Two Dogs
Over the course of her life, actress Joan Blondell wrote memoirs, short stories, and many wise and witty essays and commentaries that were imbued with her enlightened, loving, and irreverent spirit.
Ellen Powell, Joan's daughter, found a manuscript for The Tale of Two Dogs, in a box of Joan's writings many years after her death in 1979. It was such a well-written and precious recounting of her long adventure with her dear pugs, Bridey Murphy, and Freshness. that she knew it must be published.
The book is dedicated to Joan’s many fans, to lovers and rescuers of animals everywhere, and most of all, to Joan Blondell whose kindness and irrepressible love made this world a better place.
