Book Presentation:
This first paperback edition, with corrections and an updated bibliography, will appeal to a broad spectrum of film, theatre, and Chaplin fans.

Lois Rubin, writing in Classic Images about the hardcover edition, brought out many of the book’s unique features: "Dan Kamin examines new facets of the Chaplin persona, not another retelling of the Chaplin story but an analysis of the comedian’s body, his movements, his staging techniques. He explains not just the moods and results of Charlie’s films but, as a fellow mime, describes the Chaplin techniques for mesmerizing the audiences through the magic of his own body. A large number of rarely seen photos gives added value to this excellent book."

About the Author:
Dan Kamin has performed at the White House, Lincoln Center, and the London International Mime Festival, and he produced and narrated a radio special, Charlie Chaplin, Composer, which was broadcast over National Public Radio in 1986.

Press Reviews:
"A fascinating addition to our knowledge about Chaplin."—Kevin Brownlow, author of The Parade’s Gone By

"A performing mime himself, Dan Kamin analyzes the techniques and craftsmanship of the greatest mime of all in Charlie Chaplin’s One-Man Show. Kamin pinpoints Chaplin’s means of achieving rapport with his audience and his experiments integrating mime with talking pictures."—American Cinematographer
