Book Presentation:
Leadership should be more than effective. It should be practiced with humility. This book explores the value of humility in leadership through a set of scientifically driven yet readily applicable interpersonal and psychological skills by utilizing an intersection of Star Trek and meditative practices.
Focused on the popular culture icon of Captain Christopher Pike from the current runaway hit Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, this work is centered on the potential of mind-body practices such as meditation to leverage humility to promote more effective leadership. This novel approach to leadership development provides leaders, be they expert or novice, with the tools to utilize Star Trek's Captain Pike as an avenue through which to teach the relevant scientific concepts through a practice-oriented lens. The result is a journey of discovery regarding what it means to be human and how to lead through the mindful practice of serving others.
