Book Presentation:
This is the first book in a series to help the movie fan find the sources of film information, credits, synopses and reviews from around the movie world. This volume contains information on general guides and filmographies, along with books covering the Cinemas of the World (English-speaking countries, Europe, Asia and The Pacific, The Arab World, Africa, Latin America and The Caribbean and The Polar Regions.)This series is a truly global reference work and bibliography that lists the many filmographies, film catalogues and other books about film that contain significant credit and technical data, as well as synopses and reviews on motion pictures. It allows the reader to locate written sources of information on virtually every film ever made, including fiction films, non-fiction films and educational films, and includes entries from all countries and regions and on all subjects. The bibliographical arrangement first lists books on world cinema, followed by national and regional cinemas. This is followed by books covering films by genre or theme in alphabetical order. Finally, there are additional appendices covering historical films, source authors, movie characters and television.A unique feature of many entries is the film count. This allows the reader to see at a glance both the film output of the country/genre/subject concerned and also the relative comprehensiveness of the books that are reviewed.
