From the back cover:
It is normal for adults to tell stories to children - not the other way around. What sort of stories would a child tell an adult ? Or is it a case of adults asking children to tell them stories they would like to hear ? Stories of innocence and experiences - the pleasant first shocks of curiosity and comprehension. Drowning by Numbers can often be seen to be like a tale told to adults by children... adults who are no more than the children's creations anyway.
