Among the filmmakers that gained prominence in this context of "applied media archaeology" is Gustav Deutsch, an outstanding case. Wilbirg Brainin-Donnenberg is a film curator based in Vienna and has worked in independent film distribution. Michael Loebenstein is a curator, DVD producer, and head of research and education at the Austrian Film Museum.
