Through interviews with 18 art directors working in a range of different industries from books and magazines to music and film to web and app design, students learn about how they got to where they are, what the art director's job really entails, and receive advice about the future of art direction. Steven Brower is the Director of the Get Your Masters with the Masters MFA program at Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania. An award winning graphic designer and writer, his work appears regularly in international and national design annuals and books on design, and he writes on the subject of design and culture for several publications, including Print, Salon, The Comics Journal, The Jack Kirby Collector and Alter Ego. He has won honours from AIGA, American Center for Design, Art Directors Club, Brno Biennale, Cooper-Hewitt's National Design Museum, Graphis, How, Literary Market Place, Martin Biennale, the Society of Publication Designers, and the Type Directors Club.
