Description de l'ouvrage :
In attempting to retain her "human" side, does Sharon really have free will? Is killing a Cylon murder or garbage disposal? These are some of the questions addressed in this thoughtful collection of writings on the philosophical underpinnings of Battlestar, Galactica. The book includes a brief analysis of the original 1970s and 80s series but concentrates primarily on the episodes, characters, and issues from the entirely reimagined current series (including its fourth and final season, scheduled for airing in early 2008) as well as the two-hour TV movie and direct-to-DVD release Razor.

Revue de Presse :
"... covers a wealth of concepts and manages to do so with an accessible yet intellectual style. ... the essays expand on the full story and rich subtext of the series. ... a fun and challenging meditation on the classic questions of both science fiction and modern civilization."
-- Geoff Hyatt, Demo, Issue 10 (Fall 2009)

"... there is enough original scholarship ... to make this book a must-read. ... Overall, Mission Frakked Up is a superior package ..."
-- Russell Blackford, Journal of Science Fiction Studies, Volume 37, July 2010

"The essays had more depth ... [with] plenty of chapters linking the old and new BSG together with philosophy which was a good twist"
-- Darkly Dreaming David blog (Montreal, Canada)

"...they give me new ways to think about things I'm already interested in. ...it doesn't just give me new information but new ways of processing information."
-- Genus Shrike and Beware of Magpies blogs (May 9, 2009)
